“Happy holidays!” “Merry Christmas!” “Joy to the World!” “Happy New Year!” Tis the season when we are surrounded by messages of merriment and all things glittery. Everything from sweaters to personalities is supposed to be sparkling. Holiday parties abound, and lights shine brightly on trees and homes all around us.

And yet, many of us lament.
